Also one of my students from my NITARP team is graduating college this semester (!). She's going to grad school for chemistry next year.
Mr. Rodriguez is part of the 2023 ACEAP program and traveled to Chile. He writes, "We taught at a local school in Atacama and I talked about our project. First time teaching IR astronomy in Spanish!"
Mr. Rodriguez was selected for ACEAP! Congratulations!
Mr. Rodriguez is out on the Nautilus for a mapping expedition, and was asked me to give a talk to some of the scientists and teachers on board. He spoke about the NITARP program and reports they were really excited to hear about it.
Two of the students that Mr. Rodriguez worked with got prestigious scholarships to top universities. Congratulations!
Mr. Rodriguez helped run a JPL Teacher Training event on IR astronomy. He writes:
I just wanted to let you know our event at JPL this past Saturday was a huge success. I highlighted some of the work being done by NITARP. We walked the teachers through some activities and all the great work you guys are doing for providing opportunities for science teachers nationwide.
