April 2005 updates for Mr. Maranto

Published: April 15, 2005

On April 13, Mr. Maranto was the Guest Instructor at a workshop for teachers at the Christa McAuliffe planetarium in Concord New Hampshire. The workshop, for middle and high school teachers was entitled "Satellites, Probes, and Rovers" and his 1.5 hour presentation plus lunch discussion involved the capabilities of Spitzer, recent findings using Spitzer, and a hands-on workshop on detecting infrared.

On April 8, the school newspaper, the Exonian, ran an article describing Mr. Maranto's involvement with Spitzer. Since that article, several more astronomy students have approached him about coming to Pasedena this summer. In addition, the astronomy club is also interested in working with the Spitzer pictures.

A NITARP pause: we are not expecting to be able to support a NITARP 2026 class as a result of the current funding uncertainty. We hope to resume in 2027.
