In February 2013, just prior to the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) meeting, there was a meeting called the International Teacher-Scientist Partnership Conference (ITSP). Mr. Spuck, Mr. Blackwell, Ms. Herrold, Ms. Heatherly, Dr. Pompea, and Dr. Rebull held a panel discussion about Teacher-Scientist Partnerships in Astronomy.
Collectively the National Optical Astronomy Observatory (Tucson, AZ), the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (Green Bank, WV), and the Spitzer Science Center (Pasadena, CA), with support from NASA, have more than 40 years of experience engaging in teacher-scientist partnerships. The panel discussion featured scientists, program coordinators, and teachers sharing what they've learned about establishing, maintaining, and assessing successful teacher-scientist partnerships.
The slides from our presentation can be found here. Dr. Rebull also presented a poster on NITARP.
