May 2023 updates for Ms. Gustavson

Published: May 24, 2023

Ms. Gustavson writes:

Because of NITARP, I have been able to participate in Pulsar research to a much greater depth. I am presently part of two research teams:
1. Timing of the Crab Pulsar
2. Scintillations - which measure the interstellar medium's diffractive and refractive properties via the radio signals from the pulsar
NITARP introduced us to the world of astronomical data in spectral diagrams and ACFs. Even python coding does not seem so scary as it was when I saw Luisa using it for the first time. Literature searches and discussion with the graduate students in my groups have all been made possible by participating in NITARP!

We're back from the Jan 2024 AAS and we had a grand time!
