I have attended the Austin, Texas introduction at AAS meeting in Jan. Then we held meetings by phone and online communications. Then in March I was selected to the (at Colorado Springs, Colorado) Space Foundation's Teacher Liaison Program in April- 8th. Then more tele- meetings and internet communication/downloads/ Directed all by Luisa Rebull. Then in June we went to Cal Tech- Pasadena, CA, we did alot of work on our laptops and team work was required. and we went on a JPL visit.

After attending the Austin, Texas AAS meeting in Jan. I learned more about what was required of Astronomers (research) and what is required to communicate their research. Learned about phone and online communications, internet communication/downloads Learned more about how busy and dedicated Astronomers like Luisa Rebull are. Learned about the hard work to crunch data utilizing various programs driven by Linux programs I learned more about how to work on my laptops and team work. The JPL visitation showed how committed and complicated our research exploration of other planets and moons.

I have begun to introduce the Infared / telescope information and keeping them abreast of the current research I /team is doing. I am trying to introduce all the My previous eighth grade students have learned about the current Spitzer and other Infared research. My new eighth graders this fall will learn more about the program and begin to apply some of the tools: analysis of infrared data collected on our mission Spitzer: Star Formation in Lynds Clouds and Orion.

Future Plans:

To inform other teachers and students and continue to apply said software and hardware examples.

The application period is now closed for NITARP 2025. We will release our selection for the 2025 class at the 2025 January AAS.
