Luminous Data Miners: Using ultraviolet images from the Galaxy Evolution Explorer (GALEX) satellite and infrared images from the Spitzer Space Telescope to find a correlation between the color and luminosity of gas emission and dust emission around supermassive black holes at the centers of galaxies.
This [whole NITARP] experience will help me understand how students feel when they are presented with new material and don’t understand. I think this will give me more patience and understanding in this area.

I have already talked to my department about adding an astronomy research class to our class choices next year and they are very enthusiastic.
